This is technically the first "vintage" bike I've found. It's a '56 Schwinn Spitfire. Picked it up at a rummage sale a little old lady was having in her dining room. The bike was outside on the porch with a sign saying "Rummage Sale and Bike for Sale". She only wanted $5.00 for it("that's what I paid for it 20 years ago") and I was happy to give it a new home. I'll be keeping this one. I just can't bring myself to make any profit off that nice lady. Anyway, this bike rides great(although the brakes hardly work) and has brand new tires on it. The headbadge is missing and there's been a bad touch up on the headtube, but it just adds to the character. I'm gonna refer to this one as a "step-through" frame instead of a ladies' because I'm gonna ride it once in awhile. Might have to throw my double basket on the back and get myself a paper route.
