Cool, thanks jeremy. Thinking about doing original color and ordering decals from memory lane. Colors from hyper-formance, Stingray colors, same as Tornado colors?

as far as i know the tornados only came in black or red (different red from stingrays, like the red on that hornet tank/guard i sold you a while back). they were kind of the "economy" bikes, black was black and the red they used was sort of a crayon red. id say paint it up however you want and enjoy it :mrgreen:

Well, I just got a window open for each color of stingray and narrowed it down with my son (will be his bike). I thought the Cotton White would be cool, he likes the Kool Orange the best. I could go with a non-Schwinn color, but I'm getting the paint done in trade for a stingray fairlady frame and crank and Kool Orange is Kool too

As far as I know, boy's Tornados were only available in red, and girl's were a light blue. They were introduced in late 57 as a new for 58 model. -Adam

The '52's had a letter and 5 digits, yours is a letter and six digits. Puts it as 6/4/59

I have one of those, mine was originally red, I never decoded the year, I'm building a "pre stingray" clone out of it since all it came with was the original frame and crank/sprocket

Well, I feel like a dummy I didn't realize they used single digits twice so as soon as I saw the letter and the first few digits, I thought my search was over. Thanks for the clarification.

sweet! needs to be a pre-ray like ratina, with a solo polo and wide wald apes, white chubbys, and scallops.
