I am working on a 1962 Schwinn Hollywood for my girlfriend. Just learning to get my hands dirty with bikes. Ripped it apart and painted the frame, chainguard, and fork. The headset cups are still in place. However, I took the fork off and the bearings were junk. As were the bearings in the crank. What size should I be looking for as a replacement? How about the stem and seatpost? What size should I be looking for in replacement parts?

Thanks for any advice.

Post a message on the WANTED forum for your Schwinn bearings. They are common and the parts sellers have them. The seat post is 13/16". Schwinn went from a larger dia. stem to a smaller one just about the time your bike was made. Post a pic of your stem and you'll be able to get the correct one on the WANTED forum. Gary

Thanks for the reply, Gary! Much appreciated. I will post a photo of the stem later tonight when I am home from work.
