Yeah another great Stingray find! They're all coming out of the woodwork.
Have to agree with Gary, the front fender was probably added to this fenderless model, and the tires were probably blackwalls originally- but those are OLD original type whitewalls, so either they wore out and were replaced back in the day, or maybe the dealer swapped on the "deluxe" Stingray tires to deliver the bike. Wouldn't be surprised to learn this was the case.
The guard tells you it is a regular model, not a Deluxe, so it would have had a slick rear and no fenders. (See if that front is a razor edge or not- that would tell you if it's 63-68 or if it's later.)
The only other minor issues- the wheels reflectors are added from some mid-70's bike, and wouldn't have been on it in '65. The seat clamp is on backwards and probably upside down. The sissy bar should be axle mounted on this style, not on the rear dropout bolts.
Since this is a standard Stingray (not Junior) I'm guessing it's a very early '65, because about April '65 is when the "long frame" came out and turned this model into the "Junior" frame.
I would try to keep this bike as original as possible.
