This is my fiance's Schwinn Fair Lady. I bought it last summer when she was riding my purple Sting-Ray all the time. It was done in a red, white & blue theme, but we decided to go to a more girly pink & white. That included white walls, white grips, pedals, and seat. I was able to get pink decals from Memory Lane. I bought her personalized plate online. It was blue, but I painted it pink and repainted the lettering white. The streamers are made with ordinary ribbon from a local craft store. They cost all of five bucks to make. She likes it and that's what matters really...and now I have my Sting-Ray back!

Ahhhh yes, the purple Fair Lady. Love that color! The pics of mine don't do the paint justice. The white is a GM white pearl like they use on Caddies. It shines in the sun.

cool, was the Fair Lady a bicentinial bike in the first place ? (blue seat, red grips, american flag on the top tube)

nonetheless cool piar ya got there !!

THANKS! you just made me feel guilty for not working on the nieces fair lady now.......(hers is gonna be pink with white)

No, it wasn't a bicentennial bike originally. I'm pretty sure it had a pink frame and white fenders. The previous owner was an auto body guy so he did a fantastic job painting it. His wife wanted the bicentennial theme. It did have a blue seat (not a Schwinn seat though) and red Schwinn grips. I'm not sure of the year on this bike though. I think late 70's, maybe early 80's. The serial is covered in paint so I can hardly make it out!

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone.

i think my dad was pretty fond of his plate too (the bike in the pic was an ooffbrand musclebike my grandpa (an auto body guy) repainted for my dads birthday)

It was a sunny day out so I decided to get some new pics of the bikes. Here is the Fair Lady again. This kind of shows how the paint "glows."

i love the way you mounted the plates
thats pretty trick

Thanks. I actually cut the grate up from one of those cheapo round charcoal grills to make my plate holders. It was already chrome and was easy to bend into the shape that I needed. They just fasten on with the bolt from the rear reflector.

those look great!
My wife has the same name (spelled the same too) and we also live in Ohio
I was out in marietta a few years ago. i appraised a couple bars with a bowling Alley on the second floor. it was very odd.

And CCR, your dad has my plate. My name is Greg.

I actually have a homeless Scwhinn Fairlady seat in my garage right now. It is a little dirty and it has a couple nics in the edge of the vinyl, but it could probably be repaired with some of that vinyl repair stuff. If you are interested, just let me know. here is a pic

Aaahhh yes, The Pastime Lanes. Fun little bowling alley. Too bad the bar downstairs closed down. It's a health food store now. I was looking for one of those seats when we redid the bike and couldn't get one in decent condition so we went with a plain white one. It looks good though. I would take you up on your seat, but Tricia likes her bike to look BRAND NEW. :D
