Hey everyone.
i am in the process of rebuilding an old Raleigh "Ltd".
Overall condition of primary parts (including frame) are good, but:
It was missing the front wheel; and the rear is the original steel.
I am going to replace the old steel rim, and front wheel with aluminum (Going to keep the original rear hub, and re-lace it with new spokes and rim).
Any suggestions on sourcing/pricing? i have been quoted $45.00 CDN for each rim...
Input appreciated. 8)

I'm a new to bike building and this forum so I just saw your post regarding wheels. I found a company who manufactures aluminum billet wheels. Go to http://www.mcflybillet.com to see the awesome wheels styles. I'm sure you have already got your wheels for your bike, but keep them in mind for future builds.

At $695.00 I don't think they fit in my rat rod budget.

I usually pay 60 to 70 to relace a wheel and thats with stainless steel spokes.. Are you paying for the rim or just relacing?

The wheels I got from mcflybillet are solid aluminum like for a motorcycle or auto, no spokes. They might be expensive, but I'm the only one in my neighborhood with them. I get alot of wonderful comments on my bike.
