71 Schwinn Collegiate Manta Clone build

I picked this up in a trade a year ago. It’s finally made its way onto my bike stand. I had some parts from another failed/stalled project laying around so I mocked it up today. The plan is simple, down and dirty. I’m only fixing and lubing what I have to. Ride and repair as needed! The paint is pretty beat up and check out those pedals

Awesome project! I did the same thing with a '71 Collegiate and called it the Monster Ray. Here's the journal. Hopefully it adds some ideas or answers some questions for you.

Did I tell you I got the chain guard chromed? Well, I did. Sanded the part that's getting paint so the etch will dig in. Tomorrow will be filler and primer... after I get the booth build. I had an epiphany! I was going to build the booth where my "shop" is in the 3rd car stall in my garage...

I need to do something with that speedo cable.
