Well, some of you maybe remember the bike I put together for the Anything goes build off,
Eddie´s Board Track Racer.
Even thou Dad (Ed) isn´t much into this type of bike (more into brand new MTBs) he quite liked it.
Cool thing cause I made this bike as a gift to him. But the problem was I wasn't quite happy with how some things turned up.
Tank shape was strange looking, pinstripes on the tank a total failure, and details some members pointed out, as levers on the seat post and front wheels... I knew I could improve it, so I gave it at try from a different approach.

The bike before:

The bike as looks now:

As you can see, tank is gone, all levers replaced, Ring instead of horn, old licence plate instead of #14, played with the bars, put some homebuilt truss rods, and I also don't like the stand so I´ll whack that off too.
What ya think?

Yep looks good and should be fast with those thin tires. Only one suggestion is that you should grind the edges round on the plate that hold your strutt rods.

I like it. I'm inspired to try building some truss rods myself. Nice work on the whole bike. 8)

Graylock: it´s yours if you like it :D will be heIl to send it thou :|

Thom: Go for it! I have no idea of what I´m doing but apparently they´re good.

NICE!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys.
I´ve been playing a little bit with photoshop last night,
and guess what, there´s more in store for this bike.
More subtle changes, but I think they´ll look even better, we´ll see

Looked great before, looks great now, and probably will look great when the changes you're planning on are done! :)

Hey Galt! Thanks man!
And thanks to all, this positive feedback keeps me going.
I´ll try this new ideas keeping the door open in case I have to switch back to this current config.
The new one looks good on photoshop, but you all gonna have to wait to see what happens.

If your ever wanting to build some strutt rods, You can take a bolt and grind the head down round and slide it in the tube and then stick some epoxy in to hold the bolt. Then most places have the chrome acorn nuts ,and they really finish them off nice. It looks good. Nice work. I liked it the first way too.

I really like this bike, both as it was before and as it is now. Cool with the black and white checkered flag on the inside of the fenders.

Mmmm... interesting...
So, should I keep those fenders or change them to full length classic ones?
Cause I was really considering that option, in fact, I bought them yesterday and I was ready to paint them today after work... what do you guys think :?:

It would probably look good with either. The short fenders give it that sporty look . The long ones would be more of a traditional look. Either way it turned out nice. That green paint and white tires was a winning combo.

I like this bike a LOT. I thought it was cool before, but I kind of like the new look even better.
BUT, something about those fenders doesn't look balanced to me - like maybe they both need to be the same size...or maybe swap front-to-back???
Just my humble two cents worth - it's a beauty, either way!

i like both versions, but the second version looks like a lost classic from the turn of the century! 8) love the green and white look.maybe a rear drop stand and some funky early 1900`s handlebars,to further the look! really nice work.

Hammond Eggz I think we are on the same page on this one.
There´s something about those fenders that doesn't look balanced to me either, in fact the reason way I haven't removed them yet is the checkered inside, and because all the effort that demanded welding the back one to the frame. (remember it was my first weld ever).

I look at it and look at it from different angles and even thou I like this type of fenders I feel they´re not quite right for this bike. I´ll resuscitate them on my motored board track project (coming soon :D )

So, stay tuned, there´ll be more to see
