Picked up a Purdy decent girls Cruiser the other day ,on the cheap which had a few things goin on with it that needed attention besides a front flat tire , the guy who sold it to me was kind enough to even throw in a new tube with the deal
And so I got the tube swapped out and filled with air then did some cleaning and other repairs and got it off the stand and down on the ground and the tire was flat ? So I thought maybe I didn't fill it all the way so added more air , and a few moments later Flat again ?
Have any of you ever had a wheel , tube , that just wouldn't hold air No matter what ? , this makes for me the 3rd bike that's done this to me , take in mind that I've Purdy much been workin on bikes all my life and checked all the problems that usually cause a flat .

Pull the tube to see where the hole is. Keep the tube aligned with the wheel so you can ID the spot of the puncture. Air it up til you hear the hiss. Then put a finger over the hole and listen for any other hisses. That spot on the tube will show you where the leak came from on the wheel or tire. It could be something stuck in the tire, or a spoke pushing through the rim strip.

Had it happen to me recently too Raphael, like you, I can't count the number of tubes I've changed over the years without incident.
The rim was a 'new' one from a scrapped Big Box bike. So, while I'm spinning the wheel looking for a spoke that pushed through the strip, I cut my finger on the edge of the valve hole. Sure enough, I pumped up the tube and placed the valve under water...it was cut at the valve. I deburred the hole with my dremel and everything has been good ever since.

I hadn't thought of that one "Dr" I'll be sure too check that ..

" Wildcat " what you described is the first thing I did after running my hand under the inside of the tire ...

I've also seen the weld on rims rub holes in tubes.

I had a similar issue on my road bike one time. Just kept going flat. There was the tiniest piece of glass imbedded in the tire. It would slowly rub a tiny hole in the tube. Took three tubes before I found it. I was only an issue once I got over 100psi

Sometimes the screw-in air valve mechanism itself backs out or is not tight in the schraeder or presta valve stem. A little silicone sprayed in the valve sometimes stops them from sticking open.

I had a rim that the tire would unseat and it would spit the tube out the side and blow out upon inflating only around 20 psi. After the second time I checked the rim real good and I could feel the slightest edge at the seam where the hoop was joined. I couldn't see how that could be the problem but I sanded it smooth and it never did it again.

Such a simple application, who would think so many thing could go wrong , ther are two that got away from me hopfuly I can solve this one ?

Sounds like you made a deal with a guy that knew there was an issue he didn't want to share. I can't imagine what that's like.

Dr. Tankenstein, I had the same thing happen to me with an new rim. I went through 5 tubes before my common sense kicked in and told me to check for a metal bur. Sure enough, one of the spoke holes had a small bur. Filed it off and have never had a problem again. Live and learn I guess.

Totally tubular! I knew it!
I suspected this was a freak reacurance!
It's nice to know that I'm not the only Freak to have this very same Reacurance.
