Ok, I'm sure you guys south of the border do this all the time and probably can do it in your sleep, but since I don't have access to vintage ballooner bikes, and others are in the same position as well, I can't for the life of me figure out how a tank is held in the frame! I wish to make one from vacform plastic but with no idea on how the original is holding to the frame, I'm kinda stuck. Anybody have pics they can post on how these things are held together? Thanks a million.

Gerry :D

I Think he means a REAL Tank on a Schwinn ( like ) Tank
Steve.

The Top part of the tank usually seats on the Top Tube with a
recessed area..

The Screws go from one side of the Tank to the Other..
and The Force is what Hold it together...

Look at the half of the tank that I posted in my 1952 Panther thread....near the end. I was showing off the old batteries, but you will see how one half of the tank looks.

Kev is correct about how they mount on the bike....it's a pretty tight fit.

Here look on alot of boy frames they got little things in the frame that the top part of the tank slides over, I think thats how it works look heres what i mean,
