A Tiny Collection

Just going to show what I've got/had. It's not much, but I'm working with limited space. :]

Schwinn Suburban:

This was the first vintage bike I ever bought... and I did so for the color. I paid too much, cleaned it up, and found those rad tires... only to not ride it. I sold it for next to nothing this past weekend, and found the folks that bought it are trying to make a major buck flipping it. I wish them the best of luck, haha.

26" Schwinn Collegiate:

I only paid $10 for this bike, and did a days worth of cleaning and scrubbing with a friend of mine. Not too bad!

24" Schwinn Collegiate:

This one came to me for free. It's currently in lots of pieces waiting to be cleaned up and put back together.

Finally, my Ross Super Deluxe project bike:

This was also given to me for free. It was found in my friend's shed with lots of water nastiness. The only really nice part was the seat. I'm in the process of cleaning up the parts, and will be prepping the frame for fresh paint soon. The wheel didn't hold up when we took it apart, but I found a new one this past weekend. It should be a good time! :]

A couple more little things, my good friend was looking for a simple cruiser bike to ride around town, and actually loves the aesthetic of older, drop bar tank bikes. She isn't a "bike person" and doesn't care about brand, so we picked up this little lady:

Another friend got in touch with me this week and let me know she also has a bike for me she doesn't want... so I'll be picking up a Schwinn Fair Lady over the weekend. Someone did a little work to it, but it still has some good parts... and it's free. I'll post pics when I get a chance!

Thanks! It's an AMF Skyrider Deluxe... I wish the teal color it is would have pulled over a little better on my phone camera. :] It's a solid little thing, and rides super smoothly without a lot of weight.

Made some small accomplishments over the weekend towards getting my ratty bike done. (The white one with the green banana seat in the above photos).

I got my first lesson in lacing wheels from a good friend of mine (who does some sick builds).

First we cleaned up this yellow band that I scored:

Then he worked his vinyl magic and we turned the yellow band into a green band. ;]

Teaching me the ways...

The whole wheel after cleaning and re-lacing. (S7). This whole hub + wheel cost me a grand total of.... $20.

Unfortunately I ended up with the wrong size tire (I ordered it for the original wheel on this bike and not the S7), but little parts are coming together. I have a bunch of parts to prep for paint this week. Should be super fun!

Another small weekend accomplishment was on my girlfriend's bike. She had this cruiser hanging out in her shed... We put new tires on it and it rides just fine, but I absolutely hated the handlebar foam. It was old, dryrotted, and just looked... gross.

I ordered some Electra grips and I think it's a small yet huge improvement.

We'll be tearing this down over the winter for a matte-black paint job. (The same as my bike will be).
