If it was mine, I would have my fab friend build me
a square long tank to sit on top of the top bar. I'm
not real fond of the silly tank that came with it. I guess
if I had a whizzer I might like it more.
He only lives 10 minutes from his work, and should work
for him. I will clean it out good before I stick gas in it.
Got the tab welded on the kickstand and the springs all
cleaned up and painted on the seat. The main bike is pretty
much done. Now to put the motor on it. Should be interesting.
I read the instruction book and it says Do not run fenders. I guess
they have had enough wrecks with fenders to put a warning in the
book. So may be taking these back off.
I have never been a big fan of fenders, but it made this
one look better. I'm going to build a 4'' wide flat plate that
will fit under the rack and work like a rear fender. After seeing
what a fender does in a wreck, I'm not wanting to hurt my
Brotherinlaw. Found a couple things in the instructions where
you have to remove a few bolts and locktite them back in. Going
to call the company and get a little clearer info on which ones they
are talking about.
Looking good!
Even with locktite and nylock nuts fenders loosen up!
In my experiences with motorized bikes is they are much like airplanes, for an hour ride, 10 minutes service!
I was talking to Kram and I don't understand why a
China lawnmower doesn't have all the bolts fall out
but all their motorcycles do. Doesn't make much sense.
I use a lock washer on everything. I have tons of all sizes.
Yeah the only thing holding me back is them saying
one bolt needs to be changed. I tried calling for tech
support and they said they were busy from the sale.
So Maybe tomorrow. Its called a clutch retainer bolt.
If I can't find out what the heck they are talking about
I will just change out all the clutch bolts and locktite
them tomorrow.
Looks like since they say to hold the starter rope to retighten
then it must be the bolt that hold the centrifugal clutch on to
the motor shaft. So that will be the one I change. I have stainless
allen head cap screws and locktite. Should get on with it tomorrow.
