well, just goes to show if your patient enough you run across what you want. i have been wanting a vintage pair of speakers for my garage, and i found a pair of ads 3 ways w/8inch woofers at our auction tonight!!! and guess what i paid for them? ten bucks!! came home and hooked them up to my fisher receiver and they sound great!! 
looked them up on flea bay and there are some for $145 buy it now and some selling for $45, so i did good!
