I went for a drive today up to the mountains today to get away from the unrelenting heat. On the way there is a little town..if you call it that...called RYE AZ. Some may have heard of the bike Museum/Junk yard called ALL BIKES. I have never stepped foot inside this place but today I decided to stop by the fence ( they were not open yet) and take a look at this Museum. WOW..what a collection of junk/vintage bikes. I have never seen such PILE IN MY LIFE. Im not one to get all hostile over this guy because he WONT sell his stuff. I just wonder what in the world this guy is doing just stacking thousands of bikes in a field to bake in the Arizona sun.

I have read some very nasty remarks by people about this guy. Not sure if they are true..by the looks of the yard im not sure he really cares what we think. Just a real shame those bikes cant go to a good cause. But then again..it's a shame the money celebrities have cant go to a good cause. Either way..that man has spent a few dollars and a few hours on this PILE. Good for him. We all wish we had his toys right?

Unless something has changed, its All About Bikes. And yeah, Ron dances to the beat of a different drum for sure! I had the oportunity to meet/deal w/Ron about 5-6 years ago as he was dealing with a freind of mine in E. Mesa, Larry the bike guy R.I.P. Ron is a textbook case of Hoarders Syndrome, he has a (mental) need to collect all that is two wheel related. He also has quite a bit of vintage motorcycle stuff as well. Everything he really likes is under the big wooden awning at the back of the yard. There must be 20 or so 4 drawer file cabinets against the back wall under that awning. All of those file cabinets are full of N.O.S. (GOLD) small parts! Ron is no fool either, he does a lot of E-commerce with foreign buyers that are only too happy to pay nutty prices for things! If he is dealt with correctly, he could be the go to guy! But that is an art unto itself!

IM SURE if people treated him with respect instead of expecting Him to sell things on OUR TERMS HE MAY BE A LITTLE easier to deal with. I was going to go in a see his place but decided not to because i really had no time. But from the parking lot it was an amazing pile of whatever

I only bought parts from him once; an old Suntour Cyclone derailleur for my Ron Cooper. You have to build a rapport with him (Like they do on American Pickers). One of many things I miss about Arizona. No shortage of characters or scenery.

Man...pretty sad news no matter how difficult he may have been.

Just goes to show you that material stuff like this can be gone in a matter of minutes.

So it seems it WAS called All Bikes? Yes? But anyway..what a sad situation for the people that lost their homes. For those of us that aren't into hoarding we will never understand WHY someone with such a passion for something would allow it to sit and rust away then eventually burn like a lot of hoarders homes do. I understand it is a sickness so who am I too say? It pains me to watch American pickers first of all because it's a bad show..but secondly to see all that good stuff sitting in barns wasting away. I guess everything in arizona is burning right now.

Cool pics...I especially like the pool of solidified aluminum on the ground
It is sad that it happened but it may prompt him to do something with the remainder. I bought a couple of bikes that were in a building fire and they were still useable for parts. I am sure there is a bunch of stuff there that could be salvaged.

I stopped in with my dad, after grabbing a Reuben at the Restaurant/ biker kick next door, and the guy seemed awful rude for some very basic questions, but like you fellas said, you gotta build up sort of a connection with some of the Arizona old timers, those guys are just set in their ways. Nice collection, pity he was a bit high on nearly anything asked.
