Normally I wouldn't get too excited about a modern cantilever Schwinn knock-off, but this one has a few little surprises. First off, it's an all aluminum 2000/2001 Schwinn Panther. Schwinn made this freaky single speed/fixed racer for a few years before dropping it. Weight was in the 24 pound range completely built. Second surprise? It has been tricked out with a few improved parts. Most importantly, a Sturmey-Archer B2C kick-shift hub and new Velocity Aeroheat rims. I gained a few pounds with the Brooks and Sturmey, but lost a bit with the brake/lever/cable. I may end up putting a front brake on it if things get scary. :shock:
Yes, it is lightening fast! Haven't really had a chance to do more than a test run, but wow!
