almost finished Hiawatha(with new rack)

I bought this hiawatha from Crassly during the big spring sellathon. Got busy and rechanged it. It is a nice bike. Rides really well. Kinda short . I still have to come up with a decent seat (not a Brooks) and some block pedals. I had some old block pedals but i couldnt bring myself to put them on with all the other stuff redone.

Ok I got busy and put the rack on the ol hiawatha. couldnt decide on a color again. Wife said white ,Brother said red and white....chose just red. What do ya think?

nice! looks great but yeah id try a messinger or troxel from the 50's(i have 2 on a couple and theyre both very comfortable! and have springs :wink: ) what kind of block pedals are you looking for(post a pic of the ones you have they might make repop blocks that you could get cheap)?

Looks great...did you paint those wheels or were they pre-painted....I hate painting wheels...ha ha.

i took them apart and changed the rims ,figured i might as well paint them while i was at it. Did the back one with the electric tape trick but the front one I changed spokes and everything . Was so proud of myself for actually laceing my own wheel. Yahoo!!

i have a set but i think i would have to beat some dents in them for the rod things. It came with a rack on the back but im still debating whether to put it on or not.

I got it I got it. need to make a couple little rivets out of some poprivets. It will be on there!!!!!

Its called red pepper by krylon fusion. The same color i painted the rocket. Crassly sent me a picture of one ,just like mine he sold to another guy in conn. He did such a good job it makes me want to strip mine down and repaint it.

I think the rack would look good on there. Kinda adds to the vintageness of a bike. Great job with it, that red rocks and what not!
