ok so after doing many changes to this bike i decided to bring her back to her original glory
she is an original 16/20 amf flying wedge
i ave a lot fo parts to rebuild her but im in need of some hard to find parts either i cannot find them or their hard to find but either way im in need so if anyone has them i will be interested even if i gotta recondition them as long as their not cracked or missing anything.
1969 amf flying wedge originally tan and orange but i am painting her purple to match the seat
as you can see i got some work done but its slow and steady progress
i need front forks with the bracket for the caliper brakes as well as the shifter console for a 5 speed
im gonna build her into a 5 speed as these are more of my taste
i also gonna add rams horn handlebars if can find a pair
im thinking of a slick rear tire
any ideas lets hear them i always need ideas
thanks for looking

so tear down began today on this ol gal
im gonna have the frame chemically stripped to bare metal to see what i gotta work with
i also will be recovering the seat in this bikes original gator skin pattern material
also the bars are going their off an amf harely bike and they have double stem threads for the amfs triple trees
so their out
i also ordered some reproduction decals and a new head badge from a vintage road master
so i begun refinishing the sprocket and tube badges tomorrow i have all 4 frame tube caps jus gotta recondition them
i might have a different front end then what i wanted but it looks cooler so im ok with that.
im thinking of adding some wheel inserts off what i believe is sears screamer ( look like mags )
another change might be redline tires but im uncertain yet
that's what i got so far

ohh nice railrider
ill check that out
i been wondering how the codes work on these actually i was never sure.
the wheel inserts i was referring to are called wacky wheels btw i did some checking
so that's what i wanna put on the back wheel lol

thanks yeah the frame is what caught my attention its pretty cool looking and long
i never even heard of these til i bought this one in need of serious repair for 40 bucks
then i started digging and found out a lil history on them
apparently their named after a race car sponsored by stp
amf had made i think 40 stp versions of the 20/20 and they used them as pit transports
then after the race they were all donated and auctioned off'
i would loooove to get one of the stp versions but this ol gals gonna be just as sweet
i don't see many of these anywhere not saying shes valuable just not a common bike lol
thanks for posting

man is that bike sweet raggedji
that's what i hope to get ine to look like eventually
yours is the perfect example of how sweet these bikes look
im going wwith either a 3 speed or 5 speed im not sure yet but definitely same year as mine is
before i sprayed it with the rat paint-job it had all the exact same white paint around the circles on the rear frame and my frame caps looked identical to those on yours
it looks sweet
thanks for sharing raggedjim
