Ok after spending a week tearing down old rims and either cleaning them and changing to new spokes ,or wire brushing and painting them and then respoking . I have come to the conclusion that the favorite past time of the american youth (Two what?) was to see how fast they could go on their bikes and ram into something hard. Almost every front rim is bent to some degree. In most of the pictures you see or bikes you get ,the front forks are bent back. Must have been a bunch of brain damaged little boys running around in the 30's or 40's. Maybe they all got into politics.......

The kids in our addition have smash up derby bikes that are just mangled, They go right along with there Dads beat up pick-up trucks. But hey at least there car alarms work!

As a kid, I remember us neigborhood kids trying that once, I think I even built up a derby bike! But, after the first several injuries, we decided maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all! ~Adam

They say the only thing that is constant is change! Back in the day, your bike was real transportation. You rode it to school everyday. You rode it to the picture show on Saturday aftrernoons. You rode it to Boy Scouts on Tuesday night. You rode it delivering newspapers at 5:30 AM each morning. You rode it to the drug store that had the best ice cream that was over four miles away on Sunday afternoon. Your bike probably picked up a few dents and dings along the way. Thanks!!!
