Wow! I must have been on super good behavior at the Ann Arbor-Saline Swap. I spent under $100 including food and admission. There were a few bikes that caught my eye, but none I had to have. A '20's Rollfast was the closest candidate, but I left it at the show. I must be getting snooty about my rats. Plus a have a few deals cooking here at home.

Mostly I grabbed a few parts I have been looking for to complete current (or future) builds. Namely a couple of springer forks. I managed to find a Colson chain guard, but not the one I really wanted. Perhaps I can use this on as trade bait.

Now that I now the score, I will definitely be going back next year. I'll probably have a table with a couple of friends from Wisconsin.

Thanks again to Team Flying Dingo for loaning me some tools to take my Firestone Super Cruiser parts bike apart.

Sorry I missed you, we were set up next to Dingo and the gang. Cool chain guard.

I don't think I was sanding still more than two minutes all day. Too many bikes to look at. I think I might have seen you, but all you Michiganders kinda look alike to me.

Here is one more showstopper (for me at least)...

Ann Arbor Show Rules! I went about 5 years ago and had to borrow some tools myself :) Best meet ever! You just don't know what your getting into till you get there.

Is that the bike you bought at the Reedsville St. Vincent De Paul? I saw that listing. I knew it was an RRB member, but I couldn't remember who. Thanks, but I think I'll pass. I have too many bikes as it is.

As far as swaps are concerned, a couple of friends and I are thinking of organizing a show and swap meet later this summer. Would you be interested?

Yes, I've been planning (dreaming up) one myself :) There is a perfect indoor venue (rain or shine) I was looking at here in Columbus! It's huge...I did a mock up flyer already too. The venue rental is only $350 and a $200 sec. deposit you would get back. I would get the place til 1am. It's right on the main drag too.

I was thinking vendors could show up for free (pre-approved, based on quantity and stuff) and charge entrance of about $3 to $5 dollars, only to make the money back for the rental of the pavilion.
Now to just make the $550 for renting the pavillion.
Maybe I could have the city fund it and lend out the pavilion at no cost...and they claim the bank on the entrance fee. Plus it would generate a couple thousand for motels/ gas/ and food. :)
Talk is cheap...I'll keep dreaming  Like I said it's $550 to make it happen

and yes that is the Reedsburg find...I didn't build it so I feel like I would like the cash instead, for my next build...:)
