Really bummed today. After a 100 year run in downtown San Jose (near South First and Hwy 280), Faber's Cyclery has lost the fight, and will be packing up and leaving town. Apparently a "better" use for the land is either a 7-11 or a parking lot. :(

The main bike collection has been sold off, the proprietor is taking his tools and moving near the Oregon border.
It was my go to source for parts, oddball knick knacks, and buckets of knowledge from the proprietor.
 
Damn, always meant to stop in there everytime I was up that way for work, but it never played out, a definite icon lost.
 
Looks like you can still go around the corner to Western Auto and pick you up a Western Flyer. :wink: Gary
 
This are is south of highway 280. North of highway 280 is redevelopment central for San Jose, so there are oodles of large shiny (and mostly empty) buildings that were subsidized by taxpayers. :(
