This was my CL find for the weekend. I bought it from a nice lady who's father used to fix up old bikes, The saddle has been sitting in a box in the basement for 40 years. There is also a lock on the rear spring that someone must have misplaced the key to long time before that. One small repair needed on underside, bot top should clean up well. Any suggestions for hide care? I have given it a mild bath and light oil for now. Sorry about double pics. In a rush......later. a[im

Thanks for your response gents.
Hey BoltNut, that rusty old lock is there to stay and a seat post like that was high on my shopping list too. Thanks for the link.
Cman, thanks for the link to the thread. You're right about the number of methods of reconditioning. I checked youtube, RRB How Tos, etc.
There seems to be a strong case for the Proof Hide and Obenaufs. I'll look into those and take the right steps.
By the way this is my first leather Brooks ever. I've always wanted to try one and I'm glad this one found me. Now what kind of bike to build under it?
And as for Tin Machine to comment 'Wow' on my find, that comes as a compliment, Thank you, Sir! Oh, and I wish you'd offer to ship sale items to Canada, maybe I'll have to ask one day. Cheers Guys
