Just scored what looks like an early 80's Motomag. I have not physically seen it or put my hands on it but I at least have these photos. I wanted to go ahead and start this thread so I can get help identifying what year it is and what original parts it still has on it. The cranks and sprocket don't look original to me but I am not an expert on these. It also has a Redline stem, would this be original? I assume the Tuff I's are original and I know that kick-stand is not. Anyway more info to come once I get the serial number off of it.

No. The stem is not correct, but it's valued especially marked Redline. I believe S.R. made that one.
Pretty sure it didn't come with tuff wheels.

Ok looks like the bike is a 1982 Pro Class not a Motomag. Sorry and am a little new at identifying these things. It also appears the Tuffs may have been swapped out for these older ones. This bike had the option to be bought with Tuff II's , Motomags, pro Class wheels or Heavy Duty wire wheels. (http://www.vintagemongoose.com/pdfs/mongoose_cat82-83.pdf)
The handle bar and stem are Rampar which was also produced by BMX Products as a private label for Raleigh America. Not Redline.

So I think the plan will be to try and locat a period correct crank set and Handle Bars and stem. Then I will powder coat it white or black then add factory decals. I am thinking about getting some repro Tuff II's in green or purple and give the bike more of a freestyle feel to it. We'll see.
 
Believe I am not trying to argue! Just trying to get Goose from the 80s figured out! We had a shop that carried them and closed about 1982, after that we saw them at the races!
I thought pro class was the next generation frames?
I believe you on the wheels, motomags cracked and everyone knew it.
