I visited an antique store up in Wichita and did a little bartering. I traded an old buffet and a box of old license plates for

A pre-war(?) Hawthorne Owner's Guide. It is for sale if you need it.

I like the invisible second wiper arm on the truck! -Adam

I am typically the only one who is in the truck and I am the only one who drives it. I don't think I need it. It was pretty cool when the wiper arm flew off at full wipe speed and 65 mph. Luckily no one was behind me.

I recognize that Hawthorne owners guide. It was tempting me but I passed. That's been quite a while ago.

It is garagegoon's hands now. He needed it for the Hawthorne he just got. I read through it and they recomend Vasolene for your bearings :?

I say replace the ziptie with some twine or string. I don't think they had zipties back then. Glad you can use it.

GEEZE... Picky Picky.... I dont think they had plastic sleeves either... :D . I will look around and see what i can find to make it more better... :D .

Better replace my Elgin grips with correct bottle grips while I am at it and adjust my chainguard to the correct position as well... 8) .

It says Model RX5. You can have it . I got it with some other stuff I got. I dont have any Columbia's. It's not mint but it's not to bad.

I remember racing BMX back in the mid 80's and for some reason all the fast riders at our local track were using vasoline in all the bearings... and I was reading through an owners manual for an old victrola record player from 1909 the other day and they also recomended that the mechanical assembly be lubed with vasoline... "vasoline, it's not just for breakfast anymore!"... lol. :D
