Any Idea what this hub is??

The bike is a 1961 schwinn, but the hub has me wondering what it is. A wizzer had a bigger rear drive hub, but this looks like an asbestos hub. and is laced into spokes. any help appreciated

Never seen that one before. Some sort of motorbike setup. Asbestos? Don't let the EPA know about that. They'll quarantine your whole neighborhood! Gary

What's on the chain guard?? Is it a Red Cross??? Might it be some type of military bike?

That bike's much earlier than a '61 if it's a skiptooth. I'd say more like a '51. Same chainguard as my wife's '47.

Post the serial and we'll help you out with dating it. Should be under the crank if it's pre-52.
