This tricycle belongs to a co-worker. She used the bike as a child, and now wants to revitalize it for a grandchild.

My questions are:

How do you get these type tires off these wheels and remount new ones?
Where would I find this type tire for replacement?
Do you have replacement pedals for this bike?

Thank you for helping me with this one.

ive got some grips and some pedals (plastic clip on style) but no clips for the pedals. those tires are hard rubber and they usually stiffen and crack with age, its easiest just to bust the off with a hammer or cut them off. but measure them first.

its been a long time but i've ordered from these guys in the past

Good thing it belonged to a little girl. A boy would have worn it out, bent the axles, and wrecked the fender.

It's possible those tires could be scrubbed clean if they aren't cracked. The handlegrips might be good also with a cleaning, pedals may be the only thing you'll need, other than some paint and grease.

I'll agree with all of that, changing tires on those is a task in itself, but i can understand wanting it to look like a "new" old tricycle too

I would be tempted to save that one just as it is, and go buy one for the kid. Kids don't appreciate old stuff anyway, so it'll just promptly get torn up or ignored.

You should be able to get replacement tires. Not sure where to buy them these days though. A Google search will bring them up. I think teh old tricycles are underrated. New ones are garbage. FIX IT! It has sentimental value and has lasted this long. Why not! Parts are available for them too.

I have replaced them in the past. You have to soak them in HOT water for a while. This while make them easier to work with. A little bit of soap and a lot of muscle will get them on.

Have fun!

The tricycle was powder coated this past weekend. The wheels and tires went into the oven whole. The tires held up well!

I took the time to get creative in my woodworking shop. The pedals are mahogany and I happened to have a rattle can that was a close color to the blue powder coating.
