Anybody ever had a Nexus-7 go "fixie" on them?

Cruising along in PB about a month ago, and the nexus-7 went "fixie"; brake arm bolt tore thru the strap and cable arm wrapped the cable around the axle, damn near threw me over the bars on PCH. Still need to tear the bike down, but just wondering if anybody had seen this failure before.

I bet that wasn't fun. But I bet a true 7speed fixed gear would be. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Yeah, in heavy people traffic on a holiday. The good news is the Maxxis Holy Rollers stuck like glue came to a quick stop alhtough may not be as much damage it it skidded, but when the cable wrapped it pulled the handlebar right, I caught it just in time. Ended up destroying the grip shifter by hand to relieve the tension so I could steer, rode back no brakes or shifting. Hardly any miles on this thing, it was stock on a mint used 95 Schwinn Cruiser.
