Way back, Id say about the early sixties, the local 'Five & Dime' had boys 'bicycle caps' patterned after the HD motorcyle caps; black cloth, white visor and an emblem sew on front of a 'winged rider on a bike'. Of course I 'had' to have one, and dont remember if I saved up or if my folks got it for me, but I wore it out. I did save the emblem all these years and it has been on a number of motorcycle vests, and will soon be on my new bicycle cap. Even though it was cheaply made it has been some quarter of a million miles with me.
Anybody else remember these?

Gary, Im at the point I can take dig. pics on the camera, then my wife gets them on the I-Mac (I-Photo, I think).
I can take one and send it to your E-dress if you PM me with it and maybe you could post it? It would work lots quicker for now that way.

This style hat?

55, that is not quite the style, but similar, and it was truely a boys cap; not nearly as well made as 'the real thing'. I know the HD cap, originals and repros, have always reminded me of it, and they have the HD logo on the front same as mine was. I have never seen one in the antiquing we have done, and its likely few survived.
Thanx for posting and sharing my pic, Gary.
