I saw this site in the UK, I believe they sell all over the world but you can get a motor, petrol tank etc and use that instead of a car, good for those who have lost their drivers licence or as a cheap alternative to driving a car.

Apparently you can buy the kit and if you know what you are doing you can do it in a few hours or so. Would appreciate any views as I am sure this has been done for years but since petrol so expensive here in the UK I would like a cheaper alternative but could also be a fun alternative :D .

You can go about 30mpg and 120 miles would cost you about £3, about $5 I guess, sounds super cheap to me and not exensive to buy

Check out the link with the youtube video further down, guy from the states I guess has one on his cruiser

I've done a few of them when I was working for a friend fixing mopeds and building motorized bikes. One work of advice, take all the bolts that come with the kit and throw them in the trash. Get some good "Grade 8" bolts from your local hardware store and use those, the bolts that come with the kit will strip out or sheer off entirely. Also the chain tension device they give you with it is kinda cheap, either get a better one or eliminate it and run straight chain.

Another thing I have done is to put a bit of cut up inner tube under the clamps so it doesn't scratch your frame and it gives a much better grip to the clamp, this also helps dampen the vibration tremendously, a spring seat and springer front end help a lot with the comfort of the ride too. They are a cool kit but it's one of those things you WILL be tinkering with every few 100 miles.

I put a few motors on. They are fun. Trash the motor mounts and and sprocket adapter included in the kit.
Loctite fasteners. Here are a couple of them.

Yup, I've built a few, they are noisy, messy, and you have to loctite everything. The rear sprocket "mount" for these kits is horrible.

But heck yeah, they're a blast.

There are bolt-on kits out there including 2 strokes, four strokes and electic power, Some guys that can weld add Moroni motorcycle motors or Brigggs and Stratton type engines. I have had a lot of fun with mine.
