I have a trike that I am installing Apes on. Trike has a Sturmey Archer 3spd Hub with the grip gear changer. Is a longer cable available for this set-up? The original cable is about 195mm long. I need one about 30mm longer. My search so far has come up empty. What choices do I have? Thanks.

If you have an open section then splice two together. Simple with a good soldering iron and liquid stainless steel flux.
I believe the Cable is a solid wire. Might be wrong.

If you have trouble finding a longer cable, this is how I changed the cable on my 3 speed. This is just a standard replacement cable for multispeed bikes, you can find them at walmart. The difference is most of the 3 speed cables have the adjuster as part of the cable. You may be able to find the turnbuckle part at your lbs.

Or you could change the shifter style and go with a suicide shifter. If not you can check E-bay I know they sell all sorts of cables for bikes, just measure twice and order once...

Also I don't think your measurement of 195mm is correct that converts to about 7-8 inches
I think you meant cm which would equal out to 77 inches. or 88.5 inches with the extension.

In which case you may need this 105 inch cable

and this 25' roll of housing. Then trim to fit.

LOL. You're right. I was tired. Been stuck here at work since Dec 16th. I need a day off.
