we were getting them from a distributor called J & B but i called them looking for one and they said they were no longer selling them and were out totally. is there someone else selling them still?

last a know there are some guy's on ebay that still have some nos available i see them all the time good luck !

my lbs has some ... never used ... skip link chains but @ $100 ea i just laugh and say "no thanks", bout the only thing hes ever had overpriced. theres no telling how long he has had em.

This thread has turned me off to the idea of picking up and old skip tooth bike. Especially one that is missing the chain

man i guess its a good thing i stock piled on n.o.s. chains last year!
and yeah ccr thats actually cheap.....college was selling them for about 150

The last new one I sold was $120 and yes the diamond brand had a small diamond on the sideplates of the large link. I've seen used skiptooth chains sale for up to $50 around here.

fwiw, before j&b ran out wholesale was over 80 if i remember correctly...........

just like any other pitch, i've had mixed luck with used 1" chains. i think it might be worth buying a complete ladies bike with a sprocket and coaster you like just to make sure you've got a drivetrain with even wear. they often sell for less than the cost of individual parts... of course this presumes you're building a 'rider' :)

Hey Adam, I know I told you on the phone last night that my LBS can get them for cheap but I went back up there today and they told me their supplier is out.
Sorry man I'll keep looking for ya.

well if $100 doesnt scare you guys i can see how many my lbs has, i know theyre not take offs or been on a bike, but they were probably new and on a shelf in the 50's  PM me if anyone wants me to dig deeper. (just playin middleman here, not looking for a kickback)
