I had no idea who ASI was before reading the article, but "ASI's other brands are Fuji, SE, Kestrel, Breezer, and Oval Concepts." Phat should be in about as good a set of hands as they will get from a big company...

Yeah, it seems to me that ASI leaves a company pretty close to being autonomous once they buy them. The guy who used to own the LBS by me, a fella we call Big Wrench, he works for ASI in Philadelphia now (sold the shop for a more steady/stable gig once he was expecting his first child...) and he loves working for them.
