Hey Guys,

Are any of you the Wheelie Bar builder type? I know I hear that finding suitable wheels is a challenge. Today I saw a box of old/vintage wooden (hard wood I assume) roller skate wheels. They wanted $1 each for them. I can call the guy and get them for someone if they want them. Sorry I didn't have my camera with me today so I couldn't take a picture.

Those would be vintage indoor skate wheels? My Dad always talked of indoor skate rinks in Quincy in the late 40's. As kids we unscrewed them from the boots and sawed them into pairs for our skate boards in the mid 60's. He said the redish brown ones were a walnutshell composite and didn't hold up to well to the asphalt. The lighter brown colored ones did hold up and out wore the comercial Hobie Skateboard wheels. I never got in trouble when I cut those up, he was happy not to spend money on a skateboard.

Hmmmm, if I recall they were pretty light colored. I should have grabbed a few from him just to show people, but I have no use for them myself. If somebody needs them, speak up and I will call the guy back.
