This bike will be at an auction this weekend and I am curious as too how much it might go for. There are a lot of antiques listed at this auction, so collectors will be in attendance. It is listed as a 1950 Schwinn, serial #G435875.

Re: Auction find help

Looks like it was made November 1st 1950

No telling how much it will go for. Just hope you are the only bike guy there.

If it is is decent condition and just dirty with a cool patina on the paint, I would go $150 to $200 easy. It all depends on if you want to keep it or if you want to flip it for a profit.

Re: Auction find help

Over here in the West I think that could easily fetch $400-$500. I want it, but not for the earlier mentioned price

Re: Auction find help

nice b6!
the seat is incorrect(unless its just a cover),the grips are wrong, doesnt look like the pedals are correct either(cant say for sure from the picture though), crank is a later one, and it doesnt have a front drum so $300 tops...unless someone wants a restoration project really bad then it could get crazy

Re: Auction find help

well.... the auction is over. The 1950 Schwinn went for $500!!! From what I heard the two high bidders didn't like each other, so I guess it was whoever blinked first. One guy was a collector, not sure about the other one. I went to $250, but more than that I couldn't swing. I did get newer Schwinn 3 speed. I'll post pics later.
