So I got to thinking... dangerous I know. Has anyone seen or done something to attach an infants car seat on a trike? I was thinking of making something that the car seat could snap into kind of like it snaps into the base that's in the car. I was thinking of a trike for stability and that it would have a good area to work with. Does this seem too dangerous to anyone? It seems okay to me but just though I'd ask the collective group.
By the next kid my son should be proficient on his bike so I can get the big plastic seat off the wifes cruiser, then I could put a trike kit on it. He just started riding last week and already got the first crash out of the way.

I would go for a carseat in a trailer. Keeps the bike functional, lower center of gravity and build in roll bars. You should be able to pickup a trailer on CL for less than $50.

I did one just for fun and it was ugly as sin, but fun for the kids. there is a guy on here that made one that is coming out really nice. He is actually reupholstering it and going to town on that bike for his wife and daughter. He has a shop in NY, but not sure what his name is on here.

I think the mounting would be pretty easy, at least in my minds eye. Might be different when I really get down to it though. Should just need 2 elevated bars the right diameter to snap the seat onto. I need to find a trike kit that I can bolt up to the wife's Phat cycle. Any suggestions on what kits work well and are affordable? I rarely see trikes come up for sale around here at least where I've been looking.

i think this is a great idea! i cant wait to see it done. great way to get em interested early. i would sugest mounting it so they can see good, nit just hide behind the "driver" like regular ones do. maybe put them in front somehow? a tadpole with a childseat would be cool.
