Picked up this little kid's bike at the Trades Days out where Rat Rod lives. It looks like it's been repainted, and may have been yellow originally. No decals. My wife and I don't think Schwinn would have used these rat trap type metal pedals on a kid's bike? The seat is good, but looks re-covered. Not much rust anywhere. No dents. Does anyone know if the back tire is available anywhere, and if it's even possible to replace it?

The serial number is 51644.

I forgot to mention.... It's a Fixie!..... :D

youve got a lil' tiger "stingray", the serials wont tell the year on these, the only only way i know how to date them is the crank stamping and if its not stamped the best guess is the original color, i know youve got an early one though (mid 60s), it has the open chainguard (later years they completely covered the crank sprocket) and a ducktail fender (later years didnt have the ducktail). the only difference between a lil' tiger and a lil' tiger "stingray" was that the stingray version had a banana seat. ive got a replacement tire that will work, but its not a schwinn branded tire (honeslty i dont know if the originals were branded schwinn either) they're your standard 12" tricycle type tire, a real bear to put on but it can be done.

CCR, thanks your for the information, this place is so great in that regard! PM me about the replacement tire if you want to let it go, or suggest a place to get one. I looked at a couple of tricycle sites, but honestly, I don't yet know what to look for. I'm willing to attempt the installation, especially if a couple of recommendations are offered about how to do it. I assume mild heat is involved. We have plenty of that here..... 104 today at the Trades Days! 8)
Added: I'm watching a pair on ebay, but any extra source appreciated. Thanks!
