O.K. I got this one off CL here in Albuquerque for $20.00. I went to look at it 'cause the guy couldn't describe it to me on the phone and I was hoping to get a nice lugged frame for cheap.

When I first saw it I thought no way. The rear wheel had several spokes That I thought were broken. It turns out the were only unthreaded from the nipples. How does this happen? Huh. It had been outside for many years and wouldn't even roll. Not being the obviously sweet score I was hoping for , I almost walked away from it. But of course in the end I took it home. You understand of course .

After a set of $5.00 used 27" x 1 1/4" tires and a couple hours of truing, adjusting, lubing, and so on, THIS THING FREAKIN' FLIES. I love riding this bike. It is by far the fastest bike I own. Granted the two really nice bikes I have are full suspension Mtn Bikes.

So anyway. Since I love it so much, I know I'll want to spiff it up a bit so I might as well document it here.

These pics aren't as found. This is after the initial clean up and tune.

Can't find a history but there are a lot of BCA bikes out there on the Net for sale. Check out these BCA Cruisers...

Anyway cool find. I'd love to find a nice road bike... "Vasectomy" was a sweet roller but dangerous for my to ride... my feet missed the ground by 6" over the top tube...ouch!

How about a shot from far anough back to get the whole frame in perspective?

BCA was Bicycle Corp of America located in PA. I think it was absorbed into Ross and others in the mid 1980's. I have had a hard time finding any info on the company but they did make some crazy area specific bikes. I bought a BMX Cruiser style bike with a steel lugged frame, 3spd Sturmey drum brakes front and rear on 26" aluminum rims...kind of a precurser to mountainbikes...http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1397/1373151231_e82485f608.jpg?v=1189710435
