Not the honeybee beehive, but the Murray built springer. I had swapped the flanges to stretch out the forks, and it looks good. But by doing that, it doesn't use stops for travel, so the tire will contact the fork crown when you hit a good bump or slam on the brakes. That could easily flip the bike, as I found out the hard way. I didn't flip though but the front wheel locked up. When the beehive springer is put together like it's intended, the flanges hit the forks and stop the travel before the tire hits the crown.

WOW! That's a little discerning.....
Do you think the same would happen with a flipped rat trap springer? I think the rockers are similar.

Cheers,

Yes, they do, read about it here a few times.

I can say a Big Hank on a rat trap has the same outcome. The U shaped center of the spring dug into the tire, almost sending me over the handlebars when I hit a bump.

Has anyone considered installing a limiter strap or chain hidden inside the beehive?

I did this with my Bee Hive springer. never did take photos or show anyone that I even did it. I'm large so I didn't want the fork to articulate.

What I did was bend a piece of flat bar and fit it inside the spring. It bolts to the top and bottom bolts. Works great and you can't really see it.

Actually you can kinda see the bar inside the spring.
