I had a fork that was bent. I went to the handy dandy how to section . It seemed like if something bent them in the frame I could bend them back in the frame. I got this brilliant idea that I could put the bottoms of the fork backwards in my trusty heavy duty vice and then just pull down on the frame in the back and it should straighten the fork. Wrong...tore my workbench loose from the wall. Its amazing how much leverage a 3 foot frame will produce. Then I tried Rolling Double Sixes plan from the how to section. He used his hydrolic pipe bender....just happen to have one of those. The only differance is I stuck a piece of 1" stainless rod inside the fork tube to stop any distortion. Stuck the fork in and let the roller hold the fork legs...mine were cast steel...no dents..and put the jack part in the middle. I stuck a piece of wood on the tube part between the roller on that end and started jacking . It didnt take much and it was perfect. Man I was so excited about how good it worked I checked all my other forks trying to find another to fix.
