At $599 it's at the upper end of your price range, but I will very likely be purchasing one of these for myself for my 50th birthday. I have plans to non-invasively customize it, but when the dust settles I will have close to $1000 into it, so I'm still on the fence about going all-in on something mostly impractical. But you only turn 50 once...
