best place to mount a twist shifter on drop bars

where should I mount twist shifter on drop bars? I'm putting a nexus 3 on an old road bike and I am kind of digging the look of drop bars on it. Any suggestions? I plan on only using the coaster brake.

Race road bikes with Grip Shift had the shifter at the end of the bar.

You could always go for a different drop bar like these...

you will probably have to put the shifter in front of the grip. I've tried with a couple of grip-shifters and they won't make the first turn. Good luck!

I guess the end of the bar would be ok. Not much worse than having a bar end shifter down there.
