i picked up an old bicycle lantern from ebay for $30. its missing the kerosene tin and has a couple dents. i planned on retro fitting it with a lightbulb and finding a tin to house the batt/on/off switch.
heres the light.

i'm curious how these old lamps attached to old bicycles.
was there a tab welded to the frame for the light to slide onto, or was it some sort of clamp on device (for this style of lantern)
i thought about using a front reflector brackett to mount the lantern(the L type brackett that slides over the fork tube and is clamped down with the head set) the light mount should slide over top and it has a clamp to keep it tight.

figured i'd ask how you guys have gone about mounting similar lanterns, before i commit to anything.

thx

Sounds right to me. I have a light off a Raleigh that mounts similar. It just slides over the bracket but doesn't clamp to the bracket.
