Radio bike!!!!!!!! I want a radio bike!!!
You have to wonder what kind of stimulants some of those bikes designers were on.
The Pedersen (with the hammock seat) bike has an interesting history. Mr Pederson was origionaly from Denmark but settled just up the road from here (Bristol, west of England) in Dursley, Gloucestershire (say Glostershire). There were Copenhagen Pedersens and Dursley Pedersens according to where they were built.
The legend goes that to promote the radical design of his bikes he built a bamboo version to attempt the Bristol to London speed record. It got to London having smashed the record and fell apart as it crossed the line.
A few years ago, on the centenery of his birth, his remains were officially disinterred from his grave in Denmark and reburied in Dursley.
Spooky.
Pedersens designs are still being built today, some in stainless steel.
