Bicycle sidecars?

I've seen people handcraft their own sidecars, but has there ever been a mass produced bicycle sidecar?

I spotted a sidecar in a salvage yard, and looking at the welding and metal work on it, it looks well done.. so either a fine craftsman crafted it, or it was an old timey factory that cranked them out.

There were companies that made sidecars for bicycles in the 50's and 60's.
