Hey guy's,

Are there any rules to drill out the spokeholes on a hub to fit a bigger size spoke?
Obviously I want to leave enough strenght in the hub.
Any info, posts or topic's about this?

Thanx,

Badmuller

english steel, holes far apart and you're not pulling at the flange directly, i think you'll be OK 8)

i love ABs, have you got a FB to match, and where's the photo's of what you're building :D

O.K.
I guess I could take a shot at it.
I'm thinking about a 12 or 11 spoke(front & back).

I was planning to use the wheelset for this build;

But as you read the post about me damaging the frame(and my ego),
I'm not so sure, I might try to save the frame, might not.

the wheelset is gonne have the sa hubs;

I thought about doing this to a triple red band so that I could build it up with 12 gauge spokes and put it on my Schwinn Twinn tandem. But I worried that when I drilled it out, I would be taking the chrome off the area around the spoke holes. Then--rust!

Maybe you can avoid rust with a coat of clear after you are done drilling. Or go all out and get it re-chromed.
