Manaia Youth Programs and the Livingston Bicycle Club are holding the first annual “Livingston Bicycle Fest” at the Band Shell on Sunday, May 20th. Activities will be held in the Civic Center in the case of inclement weather.
The Bike Fest is a great way to cap off the end of Ride to Work Week, May 14th to the 18th. The day will kick off with a community ride leaving the Civic Center at 9:00am. This ride is open to riders of all ages and riding levels and will loop back to the Civic Center in time for the rest of the day’s activities. The Bicycle Fest itself will be from Noon to 4:00. It is free, open to the public and fun for all ages!
Bicycle Fest activities will include:
§ Bike Show
§ Bike Safety Rodeo for youth (1:00pm)
§ Free Bike Safety Inspections
§ Bike Polo Tournament (2:00pm)
§ Fun Bike Contests for all ages (such as slowest bike, longest skid mark)
§ Free Bike Fittings by Yellowstone Physical Therapy
§ Raffle for a New Bike from Timber Trails
§ Food and Beer for sale by Neptune’s Brewery
§ Live Music
Attendees are encouraged to ride their bike to the event. The bike raffle tickets are available before the event and the winner does not need to be present, but ticket holders who attend Bicycle Fest will also have a chance to win other prizes throughout the day. Tickets are available for $5 each or $20 for five tickets. All proceeds will benefit Manaia Youth Programs.
Sponsors of the first annual Bicycle Fest are Printingforless.com, Timber Trails and Yellowstone Physical Therapy. For more information about the event, to volunteer or to stay up to date on local rides find the Livingston Bicycle Club on Facebook or call Manaia Youth Programs at 222-7879.
