I'm in the market for a bike for my wife. I'm not looking to do a full build. I wanted to find a clean used bike that we could personalize. Need a 3 speed at minimum. Prefer internal with coaster brake. Nothing has really been popping up on cl that interested me, for her. I have found one a year or 2 old Schwinn debutante, Aluminum cupholder frame, 3 speed. It's about half the cost of new which is my limit for anything used. I haven't been able to work it out with the owner of the Schwinn to check it out. It's going on 2 weeks. I'm getting antsy and want to ride before it gets too cold. She was into the idea until I brought her to a few lbs and she found the electra Hawaii 3 speed.
So I'm torn, the scwinn is much more affordable. It's aluminum and 3 speed, but she's not real crazy about it, especially after seeing and riding the electra. So is anyone familiar with these new schwinns? How do thy ride? It's setup pretty similar to the electra but do they ride anything alike?
