bike id help

I recently came across this red step-through bike that I need help identifing. The frame had this marking on the real axle. E168376 Any help would appreciated.

It's a Rollfast/Hawthorne bike made by Snyder but I don't know anything about dating them.

Going by the chain guard and sprocket, I'd guess late 50's or 60's.
