I figure the Gulf oil well could be fixed with a gigantic quill stem. Basically insert quill into pipe and oil should be able to flow around or through depending on design. Then slowly tighten the wedge bolt until tight. We all know how hard a stuck wedge can be so I figured it may be a possibility.

I submitted the idea to website that BP has setup. Now just to wait for my minute of fame.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. The outer part (stem) could be a soft malleable metal like copper, so when when a cone shaped wedge is drawn into it, it expands and stretches to conform to the outer wall. I think the problem is leverage, I don't know how well those little robots can turn a great big adjustable wrench.

I say we all donate our wore out, used up, no good tubes.

Then when BP collects enough.... wad em up in a giant ball and just jam the whole pile of them down the pipe. that oughta do it.

Put giant handle bars on the giant stem for some twisting leverage on the way in. That would be hilarious if they used the giant stem idea

They might be getting close to the bike parts ideas. The wrench they are using look like some I have made in the garage.
