Bike Share Program

I don't know how many people out there live in a place that has a bike share program, but my college is starting one. People donated old bikes to the program and we are making them usable then they will be loaned out for a week to students and eventually community members. Its a cool idea, but most of the people don't know about the older parts, and what they say they are going to throw away I say wait a minute.

the biggest problem is bikes getting stolen, and around my town, most people think their too cool to ride an older, 2nd hand bike. personally, i love the idea and wish i saw more of it, but like a town/city level. you could have special painted bike racks at different locals around town, all the bikes the same color, and so on. good luck.
