So as im sure most of you have the same issue (its not a problem!) I have 20+ bikes and theres no way there staying outside! so i have a few hanging on the wall but I bought the hanger thingies from the lbs a few are hanging from those hooks you screw into the joice, but im thinking of making something to hang them all from or maybe a double decker kinda thing like some lbs have i have a few ideas floatin around in my head but I want to see what you guys have came up with or how you store your bikes?? Ive seen a few ways in the "show off your shop" thread but most people just have them lined up. I dont have a problem with that but i like them all neat and tidy lined up side by side and thats not really working anymore lol

Thanks Ty

I'm in the same boat, I have a shed out back but its full of extra VW parts and lawn equipment lol. In the garage I've got metal tools, plus a 65 bus I'm working on, not to mention its a 50's house so its not a large garage. I have to move the 4 bikes I have outside to work in the garage, I'm thinking of making a pully system with a metal frame so I can just pull a rope and make them go into the rafters out of the way. Wouldn't be to hard just need the time, seems thats the thing I have the least of...

I've got a couple of those pulley bike hangers that have 4 pulleys and 2 hanging dual hooks, You hook the hooks to the bars and under the seat and use 1 string to easily hoist the bikes up, even has a built in rope lock so if you let go it won't drop, you must release the rope at a certain angle to lower the bike down. The 2 I have are still in the box as I don't have a high enough ceiling like I did in the last house's garage, but I was thinking, if you copied the same system, but used 2 or 3 sets attached to a bike cradle for multiple bikes instead of single bikes, it would be a cool way to get them up out of the way.

I was thinking of hooking to the wheels (bike upside down) that way it would slip inbetween the rafters of my garage and would have more head room. It wouldn't be hard to make just some square tubing, pulleys, hooks that slide on the tubing and 2 ropes that run together in the middle. Could just use a hook on the wall and a metal loop on the rope to hold them up. I do like the slip release you were talking about though pretty fancy stuff. :D

Yeah a shed won't work I already got one that's full of lawn stuff and camping equipment. I decided the other day to make a hanger to hold 8 of the bikes and put it in my office/den since a few were already in there. The rest can stay upstairs in my bike room for now I know more bilkes will come tho lol. Ill post a pic when I get home

Yeah, fancy, but since I lived in a town that nobody who shopped at Roses knew what these were, I bought one for $5 on clearance, had no need for others, my friend bought 2 at that price and then they finally cleared them out at 75 cents each, I bought the last 2.

Would be really easy to copy and if I pull mine out of the box I can see if the locking system can be copied, I think so.

They have a pulley setup system at a local hardware store here one hooks the back tire the other has a hook then two short ropes with 2 more hooks and is supposed to hook to the handle bars. Pull one rope and the entire bike lifts up

Have to try find you a pic

Edit: lol ya just like that one on Amazon

Heck that one on Amizon is cheap... Might as well just buy that I would spend more than that making one.
